Happy New Year

Well the NFL season is upon us and my Titans are preparing for a new start with a new staff in place.

I still am very skeptical about the new look Ms. Amy revealed in March. What in the world is she doing? Back in the late 90s the Houston Oilers moved up here and she changed the look, the name and the image of this franchise. As a native of middle Tennessee, I was jacked for this move. We finally have our own team with the cool looking two-tone blue, the flaming Tball and the 3-star sword. Before this I was all about the Cowboys and I had a phase for the 49ers and Redskins as a young buck. But now we have our own team in TN. Now I'm 100% behind this team. Flash forward to today and I still am a Titans fan till I die, as well as my wife and lil baby Son. But now it's like the owners of the Titans just want to be the Oilers again and undo what they did in this move. It just doesn't feel like the Tennessee franchise that we all fell in love with, especially during the historic Super Bowl run in 1999. That being said, I'll still live and die with this team and wear the "old" Titans logo.

As for the offense on the field this season, I have high expectations for Cam Ward and this offense. He has great work ethic and confidence to be better and help this team. I know the preseason was sub-par, but let's see what he can do with a year under his belt. When it comes to preparation a comp named Peyton Manning comes to mind. This new coaching staff sounds promising with all of them having experiences as a head coach. The OC Brian Daboll has coached some talented QBs like Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts and even Brett Favre, one of my favorites. As well as a coach of the year honor a few years ago. Yes, Coach Salah has his ups and downs but hopefully this second chance at a head coaching position has him more prepared and up to the challenge.

As for my third point, I feel good about the Titans defense and special teams. I like the additions of Keldric Faulk and Alontae Taylor to help wreak havoc this year. Alongside big Jeff Simmons this squad should show much improvement. The defense has looked good in preseason, yes i know I said preseason, but they have kept us in the game till the 4th quarter. Especially having Joey Slye showing a lot of upsides to get us some kind of points with a big leg. Reminds me of the late great Rob Bironas beating the Texans with 8 for 8 on field goals in that epic division rival matchup in 2007.

Enjoy the games everyone, Titan Up!
